THE TRICKS OF THE TRADE

KEEPING LONG HAIR HEALTHY

CARING FOR COLOURED HAIR

CARING FOR YOUR ACRYLIC NAILS

To keep rocking those luscious locks, incorporate the tips below to keep the loss from your gloss.

Firstly, an artist needs the right tools. If you are planning on taming your inner goddess with an up-do or a classic ponytail; make sure you are using hair bands that won't pull or cause breakage. Pair up with the right hair brush: wooden bristles for curly hair, medium bristles for thicker hair and a soft bristle for fine hair. Finally: don't throw away that old t-shirt. It's a perfect replacement for your towel which will cause unwanted friction and damage. Instead, wrap your favourite band tee around your hair to absorb the moisture after washing.

Secondly, it's a long way away from the nourishment of the roots for long hair. Think about adding a hydrating conditioning treatment to your routine. You will maintain your shiny glossy look and your colour for longer.

Your New Look is on the Cutting Edge of Colour Technology

Colouring your hair on a regular basis can take it's toll on your hair's health. Colouring and particularly lightening treatments, over time can cause the bonds within the hair's cuticle to close, meaning that your sexy new colour may fade quicker and your hair could become brittle and dry.

Hydrating and conditioning your hair should be something you do at least one a week for coloured hair.

If you are regularly lightening your hair then you need what industry colour experts are calling "The Insurance Policy" for your hair: the Bond Building Treatment. These essential treatments repair the internal structure of the hair and improve it's porosity, meaning that future colouring is more even and saturated.

Tips for keeping your talons attractive and strong between salon visits.

So firstly, you are a diva so it is your right and privilege to thoroughly baby your new nails. Treat them gently - avoid opening cans and similar force-inducing activities; and if the garden or dishes need some love, then pop on some gloves first.

Consider getting a Gel top coat on your nails to prolong their life-span and avoid contact with harmful chemicals such as acetone, which can seriously damage your lovely manicure.

Most importantly: leave it to the experts. If you do experience a break or a lift, it's best to pop along and see us, as repairing it yourself can lead to potentially trapping harmful bacteria under your nail.

Lastly, keep your acrylics looking pristine by getting regular infills approximately every two weeks.
